Summary/Objective
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for meeting sales goals and assisting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, product placement, client service, employee supervision, and loss prevention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
· Meet sales targets
· Coach and motivate staff to meet sales goals
· Provide outstanding customer service to all patrons
· Ensures store and stockroom are well organized
· Assist in visual presentation standards and ensure the store is replenished at all times
· Maintain compliance with Retail Operations Policy and Procedures
· Adhere to and enforce company handbook policies
· Participate in store opening and closing procedures
· Manage merchandise processing, including tracking of company assets through inventory control
· Assist with staff scheduling and training
· Assist with the protection of all company assets, controlling internal and external loss
· Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business
· Other duties as required
Travel
· This position requires limited travel (0-25%)
Qualifications and Requirements
· High School diploma
· Minimum of three years of Retail Sales experience; one year of management experience
· Must be able to work 40 hours per week; weekends, nights and holidays as needed.
· Must work a minimum of two closing shifts per week
· Demonstrated selling skills
· Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to lead and motivate a team
· The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
· Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
