Learn ʻUkulele Basics at this Complimentary Event

From humble origins in the plantations of 1800's Hawaiʻi, to one of the world's most popular musical instruments, the ʻukulele has become synonymous with the Hawaiian Islands. Though based on small guitar-like instruments introduced to our islands by Portuguese immigrants, the ʻukulele is an instrument uniquely Hawaiian.

At our weekly ʻUkulele Basics events, Uncle Ron will lead you in exploring the sound of the ʻukulele. You'll be introduced to finger placements for basic chords and talk story about the history of the instrument and Hawaiian music. By the end of the hour, you'll be ready to hoʻokani pila, or play music, with a few simple tunes in your repertoire! Instruments will be provided.

Day: Every Friday

Time: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Location: ʻOhana Courtyard

Hosted by: Uncle Ron

We hope you'll join us for this complimentary `Ukulele Basics event to explore this special instrument and help us keep Hawaiian music alive for generations to come!
